Punch'ong. From the tree

Lee decorates his pots using the traditional Korean method of Punch'ŏng. White slip is applied to a dark stoneware body. Whilst it is still wet Lee uses his hands to spread it over the pot, using tools to incise the slip in expressive motions. Here, a stiff bristled brush has been used to scratch into the semi dry surface of the pot, creating the tree. Sometimes different coloured slips are flicked over the white surface, in a Jackson Pollack like way.

Lee's work is in public collections worldwide, including the V&A and the British Museum in the UK.
