One of the many delights on arriving at the grandmother's was playing her old 78 rpm records on her wind-up gramophone. Amongst the fox-trots, boogies and novelties was "Pedro the Fisherman," which inspired this construction. The day after completion I was walking alongside the river Usk when lo and behold, a heron speared and ate a fish while I watched. Coincidence and confirmation.
